FIREFIGHTER EXAMINATION ANNOUNCEMENT
CITY OF TOLEDO, OHIO
50-75 FIREFIGHTERS TO BE HIRED!

The examination is scheduled for April or May 2008.  Active recruiting begins December 1, 2007, and continues through January 31, 2008.

A tentative hiring date of October 24, 2008, has been established by the Civil Service Commission.

VERY IMPORTANT:

All interested individuals are REQUIRED to complete an "Interest Card" so that their name and mailing information can be forwarded to the City of Toledo Human Resources Department.

This information will be used to notify you when to register for the written examination portion of the hiring process, pick-up your written test study materials and answer questions you may have about the hiring process or recruit training.
 

Again, you MUST complete an interest card in order to take this upcoming examination!

You must complete this interest card by Jan, 31st ,2008

You can send an email directly to the City of Toledo Human Resource Department by clicking on: toledo.humanresource@toledo.oh.gov and in the subject line put "2007 FIREFIGHTER INTEREST CARD" Request.  However we recommend you contact the Fire Recruitment Office directly (phone 419-245-1564). 

Starting salary is $36,470 with a competitive benefits package.

Minimum requirements:

• Minimum of 18 years and maximum of 34 years of age by date of written exam
• High School diploma or G.E.D
• Must possess a valid Ohio driver's license upon appointment
• Selected applicant must establish City of Toledo residency within 6 months of employment.
   

The written examination will be worth 100% of your score on the eligibility list!

• Background investigation
• Oral interview
• Medical examination
• Physical ability examination
